Vergette Ltd was founded in 2004, with Vergette Garden Design following in 2011. Since then we have designed gardens, landscapes, courtyards as well as nursery and trade stands for private and corporate clients in London, around the UK and Internationally.
Our first show garden in support of Thrive and Perennial GRBS at the 2011 RHS Malvern Spring Show was well received and was voted for as People’s Choice. We have been involved in other prestigious RHS Shows since then, including RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court and the inaugural RHS Chatsworth Flower Show.
Vergette Garden Design works together with clients who are looking to create a garden which is both functional and beautiful. It is this collaboration between designer and client that allows us to ensure we create a garden that works precisely for them.
Our aim is to create a link between house and wider landscape with a garden that works with the style of the property, the lifestyle, likes and aspirations of the client and the wider surroundings.
Demonstrating a true passion for plants and gardens, Tanya Batkin graduated from Pershore College as Student of the year in 2011. Since then working as Design Director for Vergette Ltd, her design career has gone from strength to strength and she is held in high regard in her home counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. She has taken part in many local projects from working with Primary Schools, setting up gardening clubs, to designing a ‘River of Poppies‘ for the Royal British Legion Centenary Poppy Campaign.
Only a year after qualifying, her show garden ‘Umbragious Palaces’, in support of Thrive and Perennial RGBS, at the Malvern Spring Festival, was awarded the Peoples’ Choice. She has gone on to create trade and nursery exhibits at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court as well designing two gardens for the International Garden Show and Gardening World cup, both in Japan.
Private design commissions range from gardens for listed properties to new builds, Tanya is able to create inspirational, yet practical spaces to suit each client’s individual needs.
Tanya is not just a studio garden designer – she is a hands-on gardener and plantswomen. Her understanding of the whole journey in creating and caring for a garden puts her in a select group of designers.
